33 And when[a] the sixth hour came, darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour. 34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” (which is translated, “My God, my God, why[b] have you forsaken me?”)[c] 35 And some of the bystanders, when they[d] heard it,[e] said, “Behold, he is summoning Elijah!”
